Ski Ministry - Church Like you've never seen it before!
You are invited to an interdenominational worship experience on the mountain sponsored by First Baptist Church of Tahoe City. Our ski chaplains are volunteers from a variety of churches and denominations. Our purpose is to provide a Christian worship experience in a beautiful setting. Our hope is that you will experience the glory and majesty of God in the worship service.
Church services are held every Sunday at each of the ski areas below. Services begin the Sunday after Christmas and continue through Easter. At each location, you will see a cross in the snow. This is where the services are held. Each service begins at 2:00 p.m. and lasts 15-20 minutes.

Spend a winter as an intern!
Do you have a desire to follow Jesus and a passion for the mountains? Then spend this winter in Tahoe learning how to share the love of Jesus with those who live, work, and play in Tahoe City, California! For decades, Lake Tahoe has been a mecca for winter sports. But life in a resort community is not all fun and games!
We provide:
- $500 monthly education stipend
- $250 monthly food money
- Free airfare to and from Tahoe
- Free housing
- Free lift tickets and equipment rentals for skiing/snowboarding
- Coordination with your university for possible internship credit
- We will help you get a part time job at an area ski resort. This will also aid in building relationships and ministry.
Ministry with J1 International Students
Every year thousands of young adults travel to Tahoe City through a work and travel program. These young adults, mostly university students, are commonly referred to as J1 employees. This experience is often life changing and challenging as these students transition to Tahoe.
First Baptist Church of Tahoe City seeks to assist local employers and their J1 employees with this transition. We coordinate with area ski resorts and local businesses to provide J1 employees with airport transportation, social security office visits, and Reno shopping trips. In our effort to help these students find a place to belong while in Tahoe, we also host community dinners, bible studies, and a place to worship.
