You are invited to an interdenominational worship experience in the mountains, sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Tahoe City. Our ski area chaplains are dedicated volunteers from a variety of churches and denominations, working together to create a rich ski ministry. Our purpose is to offer a meaningful Christian worship experience in a breathtaking natural setting. We hope you will feel the glory and majesty of God during our worship services.
Church services are held every Sunday at the following ski areas, starting the Sunday after Christmas and continuing through Easter. At each location, look for a cross in the snow, which marks where the worship experience in the mountains takes place. Each service starts at 2:00 p.m. and lasts between 15 to 20 minutes.
Ski Resort and Service Locations:
- Palisades: Olympic Valley – Top of Big Blue Chair
- Palisades: Alpine Meadows – Top of Roundhouse Chair
- Northstar California – Top of Vista Express Chair
- Diamond Peak – Top of Lakeview Chair

Every year, thousands of young adults travel to Tahoe City through a work and travel program. These young adults, mainly university students, are commonly known as J1 employees. This life-changing experience can be quite challenging as they transition to Tahoe.
First Baptist Church of Tahoe City seeks to assist local employers and their J1 employees with this transition. We collaborate with area ski resorts and local businesses to offer essential services like airport transportation, social security office visits, and Reno shopping trips. To help these students find a place to belong in Tahoe, we also host interdenominational worship services, community dinners, bible studies, and ski ministry gatherings within the stunning backdrop of the mountains. Our aim is to create a warm worship experience in the mountains where everyone feels welcome.
